CETCI AfterHour Pedagogy Series - Neuro-Inclusive Teaching Practices with Tabitha Galindo In-Person

Have you ever considered how you can make your teaching more inclusive of all learners through a neurodiversity-affirming lens? This session will explore a toolkit intervention designed to promote neuro-inclusive teaching practices among health professions faculty. Tabitha will lead a discussion of how a project, which was based on the Theory of Planned Behavior, helped to shift faculty perceptions and increase their confidence in adopting new teaching methods. You’ll learn how targeted resources and peer support can positively influence intent to incorporate practices that benefit neurodivergent students, such as those with attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, and autism. Content will cover examples of the toolkit's components, a breakdown of the project's results, and how to reflect on your own teaching to create a more supportive and equitable learning environment.
